Why We Decided To Make Our Life Simpler

A quick answer would be:

Life is short. We are young. We don’t want to waste the time we have left!

But there is more to it than that…

We may be young, but we have learned already that being young does not necessarily mean we have forever, or even long, to live. It’s a valuable lesson and to some extent a wake up call too. We should realise what is important for us and build around it.

So how do we go about that? What is important?

We would like to learn to enjoy life day by day. We believe that people are important. Our community is important. Our relationship is important. It is to easy to forget how much work all of these require to function well. We realise that we should tend more to our bond, and hope one day we will truly know that our relationship is strong and will simply last.

We live in a megacity. London. It is very easy to just get swept by the city life. It’s exciting. It’s fast. But it’s also merciless. We might find ourselves thrown out on an unexpected life’s bend, tired and lost.

It does not look like we will be moving out of this area any time soon, so instead we will try to slow down. Since we are mere specks in this world, if we do not slow down and appreciate it – we will never get to know it! And we do realise it is a world worth knowing, understanding and caring for.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.

That is why we would also like to go through our life blocks one by one and see what elements we can make green. There is plenty of areas we can declutter or simplify in the flat. While at it we wish to slowly build a mindset that will help us maintain a friendly and functional home. Without all the frustration of striving for the best of best, as the mainstream culture would like us to.

Like many young people nowadays we have entered our working life with debts. We have already started taking greater responsibility for our spending and money management in general. We will make a debt-free life a reality. Working towards fulfilling our and others’ dreams all the way through.
